14/1/2010

The prize winning designs of Studio Kluif are featured in the new E.D. Awards 2009 publication. After the two first events in Athens and Stockholm, Zurich was the host of the third edition of what is now called the “European Design Festival” which is organized with the endorsement of the International Council of Graphic Design Associations (Icograda). Apart the trademark three-day conference and the awards ceremony, this year’s events included various exhibitions, a lecture by the iconic book designer Irma Boom (both organized by the Zurich Design Museum), design walks, a VIP tour of the Google headquarters and a party to wrap everything up in style. Next year, Rotterdam will host the events, which will be organized in cooperation with the Dutch Designers Association (BNO), Design Platform Rotterdam and the City of Rotterdam.

Save the date publication out now!

12/1/2010

The price winning Tielen Printers calendar is published in the new Victionary book 'Save the Date'.
32,A book about new ideas and approaches in calendar design. Giving an overview of the year by rolling out days, weeks and months in digits and words, calendars put abstract time and space in concrete forms, allowing perhaps better preparation and time arrangement in advance. Link the days, learn a thing, plug a ear or eat a slice, calendars today might as well seek to win brand recognition and manifest a different perspective of time besides decorating your walls. From promotional merchandise to experimental projects published by 86 designers and advertising agencies worldwide, Save The Date captures how innovative calendar designs continue to engage attention and energise life in a delightful body of forms, graphics and original ideas, derived from a good understanding of its role and uses. Contributors: 5th Floor, Airside, Andrew Ackroyd, Enrico Azzimonti, Ltd, Laboratorium, Studio Kluif, Verlag Hermann Schmidt Mainz and many others.

Studio Kluif selected for Graphics Alive

10/1/2010

Studio Kluif is featured in the upcoming 'Graphics Alive' book. Graphics Alive, a world of graphic arts appearing on our daily items is edited by Victionary Publishers Hongkong. This book is about graphics that create a relationship with us. It is not only a relationship between audience and the entity, like what we would get from reading a flyer or seeing a poster, but a more intimate relationship with our lives. This relationship encompasses all design disciplines - including graphic design, fashion design, interior design and industrial design, etc. Most of us can recognize the value of good design in major undertakings such as building a house; few of us give it much thought in our daily items. To a lot of people, design is like a trend, but rather an art of making objects look beautiful. It is true that many designers are going under the trend, however, good design isn’t reliant on anything. 'Graphics Alive' brings you to discover this omnipresent power of 'graphics being alive' around us. From big to small, from head to toe, the survey comprises of study of top international brands to unique projects by design experts and also up-and-coming designers.
