Blockheads Burritos is a New York based chain of restaurants which serve healthy San Francisco-style Mexican Food in a casual, comfortable atmosphere at several locations in Manhattan. Studio Kluif used sock monkeys to develop a corporate identity and also made a ‘Central Park Guerrilla Campaign’.

Sock monkeys are used for the Blockheads corporate identity and all types of communication. By entering a Blockheads restaurant you enter a sock monkey’s fantasy world. While listening to the music of sock monkey DJ Ziggy, you can order from the menu, which is a newspaper with a lot of monkey gossip at the same time. It makes a visit to Blockheads a true monkey experience!

Blockheads ‘sock monkeys guerilla campaign’, 2005
The sock monkey dolls that had been placed all over Central Park were picked up and taken by curious passersby. Once all the monkeys had found a new home, different sock monkey appeals on copies appeared throughout the whole of New York that had been stuck on trees. It turned out from the appeals that the honest finders could receive a free meal after showing the monkeys at one of the Blockheads restaurants. The goal of the campaign, to make the Blockheads restaurants known to more people, was successfully achieved in this way.
