Oilily is a premium Dutch fashion label in children’s and women’s wear. The collections are available worldwide in Oilily Shops and Exclusive Oilily Stores in more than 40 countries. Ever since the start of Studio Kluif, we have been working on various products for Oilily in a recognisably illustrative and handcraft style such as Oilily magazines, clothing prints, stationary products, watch collections, packaging and home textile products.
‘big parade’ newspaper, 2005
The theme of the photography is ‘festival’ in the Oilily ‘Big Parade’ magazine. The Oilily ‘Big Parade’ festival newspaper has been folded around the magazine as a wrapper. The newspaper looks like a copy that has been used many times on purpose with all its printed creases, folds and smudges.
‘the soviet’ newspaper, 2005
The Oilily magazine that has as theme ‘Russia’ has been provided with a wrapper in the form of a newspaper. The newspaper has been designed in Russian typographical style with exclusive Russian ‘fake news’.
magazine ‘sketchbook’, 2005
Studio Kluif has also provided the photography styling for this Oilily magazine as well as the design. Everyday products have undergone an Oilily metamorphosis carried out by Studio Kluif and are given a second lease of life in the magazine.
These items were used for the exhibition ‘The Foreign Affairs of Dutch Design’ in 2005. ‘The Foreign Affairs of Dutch Design’ was a travelling exhibition consisting of over 90 panels showing successful designs that Dutch designers have made for the international market and foreign clients over the past years. A selection was made from the work of approximately 90 Dutch designers. Pieces commissioned by foreign clients or which had received a great deal of acclaim abroad were chosen.
A watch collection was designed in honour of the 40-year anniversary of Oilily around the ‘Circus’ theme. The watches and straps are supplied separately. This ensures they can be worn in different combinations and each watch is, therefore, unique.
back-to-school products, 2002
A fantasy world was created for the Oilily back-to-school package in which children feel completely at home. Since Frog King & Rabbit Queen are also cuddly toys, the products really come alive.
